Godaddy.com - Modifying DNS SRV records

For the values of the SIP & XMPP SRV records please refer the the example entries on the SIP & XMPP Hosting page.

To edit your SRV record in GoDaddy.com log into GoDaddy.com and click on the your domain to edit. Choose Total Domain Control and click on Add New SRV Record.

Edit the SRV record with the following settings and hit OK.

Service: SIP
Protocol: UDP
Name: (your domain name goes here)
Priority: 0
Weight: 0
Port: 5060
Target: sip.onsip.com

GoDaddy setup SRV

In order for IM and presence to work, you must also create an XMPP SRV record. The result should look like this:

Bad Screenshots

Aren't these screenshots wrong?


The last screenshot shows the target as sxip.onsip.com instead of sip.onsip.com.


The the _XMPP-SERVER should be port 5269 instead of 5222 right?

settings do not work

these screen shots are old and the target for the last two rows in the last screenshot are not accurate...information is missing where it just has xmpp-client....and xmpp-server.... and godaddy will not accept these two target values

He might be talking about how in the screenshot the Target field looks like it is cut off for the last two entries.


xmpp-client....

xmpp-server....


It might be helpful to add the text for those entries below the screenshot.
