SIP on a Nokia. Confirmed to work with Nokia E51 (FW version: 220.34.37,
20-10-2008, RM-244, Nokia E51(16)) and E90 (FW version: 07.24.0.3,
12-06-2007, BA-6, Nokia E90 26)

The procedure to configure the Nokia with a Junction Networks OnSIP account has two steps:

1. Configure a SIP Account on the Phone
2. Create a profile for the Internet Telephone

Note: While it depends on the circumstances, because of NAT issues, I would
only recommend using these phones with Junction Network's OnSIP Hosted PBX service. The configuration info that follows is consistent with this recommendation.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 0 of 2: Upgrade firmware if needed

The first thing I did was upgrade the firmware - see http://europe.nokia.com
Find your current software version by entering *#0000# on your phone's
keypad.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 1 of 2: Configure a SIP Account on the Phone

Menu -> Tools -> Settings -> Connection -> SIP settings

Now add a new SIP profile: Options->Add new

You can call it onsip, for example...

Profile Name: onsip
Service Profile: IETF
Default Access point: None (or select the access point that will be used)
Public user name: XXXX@YYYY.onsip.com <-- where this is your SIP address (or
Address of Record in Phone Configuration box on bottom right of User panel).
Replace XXXX@YYYY.onsip.com with your Address of Record
Use Compression: No
Registration: When needed
Use Security: No
Proxy Server
- Proxy server address: sip.onsip.com
- Realm: jnctn.net
- User Name: XXXX <--Your Auth Username from Phone Configuration box.
Replace XXXX with your Auth Username.
- Password: **** <-- SIP Password from Phone Configuration box. Replace ****
with your SIP Password
- Allow loose routing: Yes
- Transport type: Auto
- Port: 5060
Registrar Server
- Registrar server address: XXXX.onsip.com <-- Your Proxy/Domain from Phone
Configuration box
- Realm: jnctn.net
- User Name: XXXX <--Your Auth Username from Phone Configuration box.
Replace XXXX with your Auth Username.
- Password: **** <-- SIP Password from Phone Configuration box. Replace ****
with your SIP Password
- Transport Type: Auto
- Port: 5060

NOTE: just fill in details for Public user name, Proxy server address, and
Registrar server address. Once saved, all 3 will be preceded by "sip:" if
you review the settings.

The SIP account is now ready.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Step 2 of 2: Create a profile for Internet Telephone on the Phone

Menu -> Tools -> Settings -> Connection -> Internet Tel. -> Options -> New
profile

Name: Junction Networks
SIP profiles: onsip

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
To Connect

Now when you want to use VoIP, you have to register to the service:

E61
Menu -> Connectivity -> Internet tel.
- Select access point to use to create connection. You will need to enter
the WEP/WPA Key.
E90
Menu -> Connectivity -> Net tel
- Select access point to use to create connection. You will need to enter
the WEP/WPA key.

The phone will try to register to the Junction Networks OnSIP server.
Once the registration is complete, you'll be able to make calls (select
Internet call in the Call menu).

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
To Disconnect

Menu -> Connectivity -> Connection Manager -> Active Data Connection ->
Options -> Disconnect

Or

Menu -> Connectivity -> Internet tel. (or Net tel) -> Select access point
you're connected too -> Options -> Disconnect
