How do I transfer a call with my.OnSIP?

How do I quickly transfer a call with my.OnSIP to another user on my PBX?

To transfer a call in the Open Lines section to any other user on the PBX, click on the active call and drag it onto the Contacts list. Drop it on the person you wish to transfer the call to and the call will be sent to that user. Of course, you may use the IM interface to check with the user before sending him/her the call. This is a 'blind' transfer.

How do I transfer a call straight to someone's voicemail. Example...I see that Joe is not at his desk and I want to transfer the call straight to his voicemail instead of it ringing and ringing until I hear his voicemail and them hang up??

Hi Amy,

That's a great question. I've updated the knowledgebase article to show you how to transfer a call anywhere via my.OnSIP. Transferring specifically to a voicemailbox, or any other location, will require knowing either the extension or SIP address of that OnSIP voicemailbox. The standard convention inside OnSIP is that voice mailbox SIP addresses are created by prefixing "vm." onto the user's SIP address. So for instance, if Joe's address is joe@acme.corp, by default his voice mailbox address would be vm.joe@acme.corp. In the box that appears after you click the transfer button, just enter "vm.joe".

Hope that helps :)

Cheers,
