Known Issues
Snom cannot complete attended transfers of calls with some other vendors' phones, including Linksys and Grandstream. This applies to calls over the Internet as well as calls between phones on the same network. There is no known fix at this time.
Step 1: Gather information for each user.
Each user has a set of credentials which will be needed to configure each phone. For each phone that you are configuring, obtain the following:
- SIP Address (Address of Record)
- SIP Password
- Auth Username
- Username
- Proxy/Domain
You can find this information in the user detail pages under the Users tab in the Phone Configuration section.
Step 2: Log into your SNOM phone through a web browser
When your phone is powered on and connected to your LAN, use a browser to navigate to the IP address of your phone and select
"Identity 1".
Step 3. Enter your user information from Step 1.
For most setups, you will need to simply configure "Identity 1". If you are trying to configure multiple users or multiple line appearances, you can repeat the steps below for each of the identities you are configuring.
- Display Name > Whatever you would like.
- Account > Username
- Password > Auth password
- Registrar > Domain
- Outbound Proxy > sip.onsip.com (*missing in screenshot below*)
- Authentication Username > Auth username

Click "SAVE" and then 'Re-register".
Step 4. Confirm that you have disabled all SIP settings.
Step 5. Confirm that you have disabled all Network Address Translation (NAT) settings.
We handle all NAT related issues. So, make sure to turn off any NAT settings in order for your phone to communicate properly with our servers.
- Select the "NAT" tab.
- Make sure "Offer ICE" is off and all other fields are blank.
- Click "Save" if you made any changes.
Step 6. Disable RTP encryption.
By default, SNOM phones ship with RTP encryption enabled. This must be disabled in order for your phone to communicate properly with our servers.
- Select the "RTP" tab.
- Change "SDP Answer" to OFF.
- Change "Symmetrical RTP" to ON.
- Change "RTP Encryption" to OFF.
- Click "Save".
Step 7: For Firmware 6.x: Advanced Settings
- Click "Advanced" on the main menu.
- Scroll to the Advanced Network section.
- Change "Timer Support (RFC4028)" to OFF.
- Change "Require PRACK" to OFF.
- Change "Offer GRUU" to OFF.
- Click "Save".
Step 7: For Firmware 7.x: Advanced Settings
- Click "Advanced" on the main menu.
- Click the SIP/RTP tab.
- Change "Timer Support (RFC4028)" to OFF.
- Change "Require PRACK" to OFF.
