Expected behavior?
I have Counterpath's Bria installed on my machine and most of my users use X-Lite. I was initially thinking that it would just dial through that immediately. Is it doing what it's supposed to do?
RE: Expected behavior?
Yes that is the correct behavior.
The plugin is built to be completely independent of the phone that you use. The call setup is done by placing a call to your registered phone(s) and then transferring you to the destination number that you originally dialed once you answer.
This lets us integrate our call-setup service with any compliant SIP phone on the market and is in fact a standard way to implement third party call control in SIP.

Hi,
When trying to make a call it tells me that there's another TAPI driver. How do I uninstall them?
Also, not sure what the SIP address and password are. Can you be a little but more specific / give examples?
Thanks.
P.S. For example, say that when you click on "Email Phone Configuration Instructions" on the user's page that will send you the SIP address, which in that email called "Address of Record"
RE: Hi,When trying to make a
We have heard this problem from a few customers so far. Our suggested solution currently is to uninstall the TAPI driver and restart Windows. When Windows starts up again reinstall the driver and be sure to follow the steps for placing a call in the list on this page. Specifically please be sure to select "Dialing Properties..." and choosing the OnSIP TAPI device from the list of devices.
Re: SIP address and password
To read more about what SIP is and SIP addresses you can refer to this very brief overview of SIP or this more complete overview of SIP.
To find your SIP address in OnSIP you can find it in the admin portal - users page. If you do not have access to the admin portal please consult the administrator who set up your OnSIP account. Your password is the same web password that you would use to log in to the Admin Portal or my.OnSIP. Again, if you do not know your password consult your administrator and he or she can have it emailed to you.

Hello,
We've added this to our to-do list and understand it's desired by our clients. I'll provide updates via our Knowledgebase/blog/newsletter as I have them. Thank you for the feedback.
Outlook Plug-In for 64bit
Still waiting!!!
Onsip is almost worthless without the plug in.
re: Outlook Plug-In for 64bit
I'm sorry you feel that way about OnSIP without the Outlook plug in, but I have to respectfully disagree. Although I do appreciate how much you like the Outlook plug in.
In any case, we do have the 64bit version of the plug in developed but we have not been able to finish testing it yet.
In the meantime until we officially release it, all of the Outlook plug in code is completely open source and has the compiled release candidates included in the git repository under the "Releases" directory. See the information in the article above about where to find the git repo.
Cheers

re: 64 bit
I noticed the source is updated for x64, however there is no documentation regarding this on github..
Still working on it...
Developer has uploaded to the git repository; however, this is yet to be tested, documented, and officially released. Feel free to get it there, but stay tuned for more info... Thanks!
Onsip TAPI and Office Communicator
Hi,
Installed the TAPI driver & tested OK. When trying to call (and running Office Communicator) OC pops up a message saying "this feature is disabled". I exitied from OC, then I got the option to select dialing properties and could select Onsip . . . then the call contact feature worked perfectly. But if OC is running, fails as before. Do you know of a way to give the Onsip TAPI priority, or just tell OC to stay the *#$$! out?
Thanks

Had this issue also
Here was the solution for me:

MSI version?
Any plans to make the EXE into a MSI version so non-admin users can install it through Active Directory Group Policy? Right now, an admin level user has to install the add-on, but there are only a few admin level people (as there should be).
Keep up the good work!
Thanks!
MSI for GPO deployment
I second that it would be nice to have an MSI for GPO deployment. However, this would likely require a per-user MST in order to set the phone number and login info (unless it could be read/stored in AD? - and then we would probably begin asking for more AD integration features)
TAPI driver problem
The install goes fine and the driver acts as expected right up to my answering the phone. When my phone rings to indicate the call is being initiated, I pick it up and I get a busy signal. This happens in every case no matter what number I try to call. Following this, when I try to close the call window, everything goes gray and Outlook crashes and restarts.
I am using a Windows 7 64-bit system. Please advise.
BTW, I think OnSip is about the best thing that ever happened to our business and the guy who thinks it is worthless without this driver is just plain nuts!
Busy signal when placing the call
I was seeing the same behavior. In my case, I just hadn't configured the country in my Dialing Properties. When the New Call dialog comes up, click on the Dialing Properties button, then click on Edit for your location and make sure you have the correct country.
