User Portal Outbound Call Preferences
To edit your outbound call settings, click Modify in the lower right corner of the box. Your outbound caller-ID settings are what Junction Networks sends out as your caller-ID when you place a phone call.
Your outbound caller-ID settings can either come from this interface, or from your VOIP phone. To use the caller-ID settings coming from your phone, choose Use Phone Settings from the PSTN Caller-ID drop down box.
To override the phone settings, choose Custom from the PSTN Caller-ID drop down box. Then you can put in your own outbound caller-ID name and number.
When finished, choose 'save' in the lower right corner of the section.
On all extension to extension calls, both your name and number will be displayed to the called party. On calls to the PSTN, most carriers will drop the caller-ID name, but will display the caller-ID number, given the number is a valid 11 digit number.
If you have problems calling toll-free numbers, it may be a problem with your outbound caller-ID number. Make sure that your caller-ID number is a valid 11 digit phone number and not, itself, a toll free number. Many toll-free numbers reject calls without a valid caller-ID or if the caller-ID is a toll-free number.
